 Objectives

• Learn a parabola can model an ideal projectile
• A quadratic equation in standard for is ax² + bx + c = 0
• Learn the quadratic formula for solving the standard form quadratic equation
• Learn to apply the quadratic formula, to find up to two solutions to a quadratic equation
• Learn the quadratic solutions are a where a graph of the parabola y = ax² + bx + c cross the x-axis
• Learn when the quadratic formula gives no answer and thus there is no answer to the quadratic equation, the parabolas graph never crosses the x-axis
• Learn that when the quadratic equation gives just one answer the vertex of the quadratic equation’s parabola is on the x-axis
